Getting To Know Amy Poehler

I was doing some blog hopping when I saw a post featuring Amy Poehler. Well, I have seen her in a couple of episodes of Saturday Night Live, and I really admired her talent especially in comedy. She has either appeared or lended her voice on various great and funny films like Scary Movie 2, Shrek the Third, and Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo.

Being a mom myself, I admire her the more for her desire to feature smart girls who, in their own little way, want to make a change in the world. She is now producing a digital series called Smart Girls at the Party, which focuses on interviews with girls and young women about their lives and their respective contributions for the world though their talents. Here's a sample video of Amy's new venture:

What I liked about this series is that it has Barbie as their lead sponsor, which my daughter is so crazy about! And the videos are just easy to view since the tv is user-friendly and anyone could explore them without a problem. The tv widget can even be placed in any profile of social networking sites, like Myspace or Facebook.

Do you believe in smart girls? Well then, get your own widget here.

Beauty Supplies

As updated as we are with the latest fashion trends and styles, being fashionable alone does not guarantee our ultimate appeal. Of course, for an over-all beauty and pleasant look, we should also be beautiful inside and out.

Beauty can be achieved through proper care of our physical parts - - skin, hair, body and even teeth. There are various means to be beautiful, like make ups, spas, and even as permanent as surgeries. These means are available anywhere. A trip to the salons and beauty parlors once in a while won't hurt.

For skin exfoliation that promises a youthful and refreshing skin, microderm is a popular suggestion. It is a safe cosmetic procedure which is practiced in any salon, with the impressive microdermabrasion equipment. This is one instance for beautifying one's self. Well, at Concept For Beauty, everything you wanted to know about being beautiful is right before your eyes. They have a comprehensive directory of beauty equipments and salon equipment suppliers, who offers a wide range of outstanding machines like spray tanning booths, laser hair removal equipments, vacustep (an alternative to liposuction), and vertical tanning beds.

Valentines Day is just a few days ahead, but we still got enough time to get that beautiful appeal that we wanted. Concept for Beauty is just a click away!

Shoes For Your Man

I guess it has become a well known fact that shopping is one great activity that most women love to do. It somehow liberates the feeling of stress and depression within us. But wouldn't you feel guilty that all you've been shopping for are mostly female stuff?

Since I love shopping a lot (window shopping at that - lol!), I also take time to shop around for male things that might interest my hubby, like boots, for instance. Just like me, hubby is so much into shoes and every time he finds time to shop with me, he really won't fail to take some look over the shoes department.

I have found some splendid shoes from Converse, which I will show to hubby one of these days. The best thing about Converse is that they are built with utmost durability and designed for great comfort, aside from its attractive appearance of course. So whether he is at work or at play, the shoes could get along very well.

Just take a look at these boots and who knows, maybe your man would love them too. Better know his foot size beforehand then. This might be a perfect gift for him this coming Valentines Day, don't you think?

Red: Mixed and Matched

Everyone is in anticipation of the next approaching special occasion, and that is Valentines Day. Since red is the famous color of love, this post would like to feature some wonderful red creations that would perfectly suit the day of hearts.

Starting off with dresses, these five picks are indeed lovely and modish. Looking good would never be a problem especially when these are worn. Red flashy dresses that surely bring out the sexy gal in you.

From left to right: Phillip Lim ruffle front dress; Rachelle Gilbert rochelle mini dress; Oscar dela Renta silk shift dress; Azzaro fougere mini dress; and Celine swarovski necklace dress.

Now, match those dresses with these equally elegant footwears. They make the red madness all the more exciting.

From left to right, top to bottom: Jimmy Choo precious platform sandals; Giuseppe Zanotti jeweled thong sandals; Juicy Couture patent leather gladiator; Miu Miu bow front slingbacks; and Brian Atwood Tonya patent pumps.

And to complete your valentine get-up, here are some great bag picks.

From left to right, top to bottom: Miu Miu metallase tote; Marc Jacobs iris sequined bag; Michael Kors woven rafia clutch; Bottega Veneta capri intrecciato tote; and Fendi new bag de jour patent tote

There goes my humble game of mix and match. I am pretty excited for the coming Valentines. Hmm . . . what shall I wear then? *wink*

Music Monday: Flightless Bird, American Mouth

Oh well, please allow me to rant about my being a Twilight addict. It has been a month since I have watched the movie, and at that I have watched it 6 times already (5 times in the theaters and once over the internet). But my being ga-ga over this flick did not just end at the movie house. Thanks to a generous person, he emailed me the 4 ebooks of the Twilight saga and in less than two weeks I was already engrossed.

Okay, since this post is a Music Monday, here's my part of the meme. In relation to the most favorite movie that I have at the moment, this feature song is from the movie's official soundtrack, and if you have watched the movie, it was played during the prom scene. I fell in love with this song and it brought me back to my high school days, although the song itself is not a love song (haha!). By the way, this will be my first music monday on this blog... although I have already joined previously in my other blog.

Lyrics:

I was a quick wet boy, diving too deep for coins
All of your street light eyes wide on my plastic toys
Then when the cops closed the fair, I cut my long baby hair
Stole me a dog-eared map and called for you everywhere

Have I found you
Flightless bird, jealous, weeping or lost you, american mouth
Big pill looming

Now I'm a fat house cat
Nursing my sore blunt tongue
Watching the warm poison rats curl through the wide fence cracks
Pissing on magazine photos
Those fishing lures thrown in the cold
And clean blood of Christ mountain stream

Have I found you
Flightless bird, grounded, bleeding or lost you, american mouth
Big pill stuck going down
